VETS FINAL COMPETITION OF 2022
On a beautiful autumnal day, the last of the Vets Competitions for 2022 was held. Polo shirts were the order of the day with some players even wearing shorts - not usually expected in mid October. The Competition format was a 3 Ball Alliance Stableford with two scores to count off an 85% course handicap, with the venue being Hearsall Golf Club.
We were warned prior to venturing out on the course that drainage work had been completed on some of the greens, with the greens only coming back into play in the last few days, but it did not seem to matter as some excellent scores were recorded. In fact the greens were running very well. Everyone seemed to enjoy the course, certainly the weather and the food and drink that followed play. Only compliments received which is always a good sign.
Salvers awarded today were presented by Mrs Jean Plant and Mrs Pam Stanley together with John Lewis vouchers which were won by:-
1st Emma MAYBURY, Mel KEFFORD & Angela DANBY (Whitefields GC) - 77 points
2nd Anne WARDLE, Linda DEELEY & Joanne BOYES (Walmley GC) - 75 points
3rd Val BARKER (Shirley GC) Jen GRIMSTON & Nicky MOLSON (Coventry GC) - 74 points
Front 9 Bev COLEMAN & Teresa WRIGHT (Kenilworth GC) & Christine JAMIESON (Robin Hood GC) - 38 points
Back 9 Andrea MACE, Angie BARNETT & Alicia ISLES (Oakridge GC) - 42 points
At the Prize Presentation, Lady Captain Gill Farquhar of Hearsall gave a belated welcome to all those present, hoping that we had all enjoyed the course and hospitality. She was then presented with a plant for her efforts in making the day so enjoyable.
