Warwickshire Seniors vs Leicestershire & Rutland Seniors match at Leamington & County Golf Club, 11th September 2023

This is traditionally our 1st fixture of the season and was due to be played on 10th May, however due to heavy rain and the fact Leamington and County was closed the fixture was postponed.
John Hardwick, the Leicestershire captain, and I decided to reschedule the fixture for 11th Sept. With help from Chris Brown, Leamington & County kindly accommodated us for the new date.
Dave Morris made his county debut playing along side our experienced past captain- Rob Soen. They managed a fine win in the morning, 1 up over the Leicestershire captain.
After a good morning, Warwickshire went into lunch with a slender 3.5-2.5 lead.
With the experienced pairing of Pete Gordon and our President, Mark Reynolds returning a fine 4&3 win and the pairing of Neil Sellers/Mark Stanton winning again in the afternoon, the depth of the Warwickshire team began to tell.
Warwickshire completed a fine 8-4 win in the fourball afternoon matches, and an overall 11.5-6.5 win.
A big thanks to the Warwickshire Seniors side, for giving up their time to represent the county and performing at a high level.
Thanks to Leamington & County for hosting us, the course was in fine condition and food was delicious all day.
