U16S WARWICKSHIRE VS SHROPSHIRE&HEREFORDSHIRE At Whitefields golf club
After a disappointing draw against Worcestershire the team were hoping for a better result in this match, the team selected as follows:
Jack Hewitson Copt Heath
Kamraan Aratsu Copt Heath
Ollie jones Coventry
Monty Fincher Stratford on Avon
Edward Hayle Rugby
Archie Williams Ladbrook Park
William Paget Coventry
Charlie England Coventry
After a bacon rolls and a range warm up session the boys were ready for action
Morning pairings as follows:
Jack Hewitson & Kamraan Aratsu
Ollie Jones & Monty Fincher
Edward Hayle & Archie Williams
William Paget & Charlie England
Jack and Kamraan would go into an early lead 2 up thru 3 which the opposition never recovered from, being 3 up after 10 and winning 4&3.
Ollie & Monty would secure a half point in what was a very close match.
Edward Hayle & Archie Williams were both playing really well and would close out their match with an easy 5&4 victory.
William Paget & Charlie England were in a close match with some good golf from both teams but team Warwickshire digging in would get the win, 3&2.
Leading us into lunch with a fantastic 3 ½ to ½ and the boys were all in high spirits and a positive mood going into singles
Monty fFncher leading us out in singles and playing well winning 2&1
Jack Hewitson next out and also playing well winning 4 & 2
Ollie Jones played an inform Harry Slater who didn't put a foot wrong all day losing 3 & 1
Kamraan Aratsu played well but it was not good enough on the day against tough opposition and lost 2 & 1
Archie Williams played solid with some exceptional short game on display and winning 2up
Edward Hayle very tight game with Edward being 1 up through 7 and being pegged back to all square trough 12 but battled back to win 2 up
William Paget, well this was a demolition with William being 6 up through 7 however I don't think this was all to do with William
Playing brilliant but his opponent having tough day as well William winning 9 & 7
Charlie England had a tough game being 1 down through 7 but kept battling but going down 18 1 down and Charlie taking 4 to hit the green
And his opponent on in 2 thought writing was on the wall but Charlie 2 putted only for his opponent to 5 putt!
