With the weather looking as though it could poor down at any given minute and the wind picking up it was clear this was going to be a tough challenge. Onto the morning foursomes
Ste & Lee
Karl & George A
Chris & Rich
Bobby & George B
Niall & Lewis
After the first 5 holes each match was tight with nothing more than a couple of holes in it. As the matches go to the 10th it was clear it was going to be a tight morning. Both team up in 2 matches and in even at the turn. Lee and Ste got up early but a mid round comeback meant the top match was halved. The next two points went to the bears and it was looking positive. Only got Staffs to hit back and take the final two matches for it to be even at lunch 2.5 each.
Onto the afternoon singles and the temperature had dropped and the wind picked up.
Order as follows.
1. Ste
2. Lee
3. George A
4. Karl
5. Chris
6. Rich
7. Bobby
8. George
9. Lewis
10. Niall
By the time the players got through the first 6 holes the wind had started to become a huge factor, that with the extremely difficult pins made scoring very difficult. Most matches through 6 holes only had the odd hole in it and it looked as though we was in for another tight match. As the games progressed into the middle of the back 9 you Staff had got the upper hand. It would have taken an amazing turn around in the last few matches for us to turn the result around. Unfortunately it was a step too far and it was Staffs who handled the conditions better and cam out 9 to 6 winners.
A tough pill to swallow but with 2 games left to play I'm confident we can get back to winning ways and end the season on a high.
Once again thanks to Nev for his continued support and for the team for once again giving their all. It just wasn't our day.
Onto the next fixture
