Under 14 Ten Counties Championship - Sunday 3rd September 2023
The under 14s season finale closes with the 10 counties championships, the format is a six man team stroke play event with the best five scores to count.

This was to be held at the fantastic venue of Stanton On The Wolds Golf Club, the lads managed to visit the course a week before the championship to have a much needed practice round, this was invaluable as this a course you need to know where you are going and where to place your tee shots, the lads were all very pleased when they came off the course as we chatted about what they had learnt on the day while tucking into a bowl of chips.
The day of the championship
The team arrived nice and early and were all in a very positive mood while tucking into their bacon sandwiches while listening to some last minute advice from the Warwickshire Boys Ambassador Graham Barton, who as we all know has plenty of experience.
The boys were then off and ready to loosen off on the range and to practice some chipping and putting before heading to the first tee.
The course was in fantastic condition with some tricky pin positions, the sun was out but there was quite a strong breeze in the air.
Constant updates were coming through on how the lads were getting on, I parked myself on the 9th green so I could see all the lads come through the turn, we were going steady in all groups, unfortunately the back 9 faired very tough with the wind picking up and a few mistakes crept in.
A great experience for the lads to take away with them and to take into their future golf, two of the team will also be under 14 next season so they will know what to expect and be able to pass on their knowledge.
