WLCGA Seniors Season Starts in the Rain!

Following a very wet winter and lack of golfing opportunities, the sign up rate for this competition, the WLCGA Seniors Better Ball, was unfortunately lower than in previous years. However, Oakridge Golf Club offered a very warm and friendly welcome to the 64 ladies that braved the persistent rain and despite quite difficult playing conditions, there was a real buzz in the clubhouse not to mention a few really good scores.

Nearest the Pin in 2 on 14th ( HI 22.6+) Sarah GREEN - (Rugby GC)
Nearest the Pin on 12th ( HI up to 22.5) Liz MOVERLEY - (Copt Heath GC)
Yvette Doughty Trophies for Partners Aged 75+ - Chris WRIGHT & Patsy STONE - (West Midlands GC)
1st Prize and Ellie Scott Salvers - Leesa DENNIS & Deborah ALLEN - (Atherstone GC) - 40 points
2nd Prize on Countback - Peta POYNTON & Jennifer KENTISH - (Robin Hood & Copt Heath GCs) - 35 points
3rd Prize on Countback - Jayne SHAW & Sue LORD - (Sutton Coldfield GC) - 35 points
Congratulations to all the winners. The Ball Sweep raised £87.00 for the Junior Girls.
This was the first Competition in 2024 of the newly named WLCGA Seniors (formerly known at The Vets) and it was good to get the season started. There are four further Seniors Competitions during the summer of 2024 - Singles Championship, 9 Hole 3 Ball Alliance, 4 Ball Am Am and finally a 3 Ball Alliance - why not sign up on www.warwickshiregolf.com (if you have not done so already) and play on a course that you may not have played before.
