The Warwickshire girls v Northamptonshire girls match 2 June 2024
The Warwickshire girls v Northamptonshire girls match was held at Northamptonshire County Golf Club. We were grateful to Diane Amos from Northamptonshire for organising the match and the Lady Captain of the club for starting the girls off on the first tee.
The weather was fantastic, and the course was in excellent condition and very challenging being an open qualifying course. The Warwickshire girls fought hard against a very formidable Northamptonshire squad losing 4/1 against the Northamptonshire scratch team. The handicap team played well to secure a 3/2 win over Northamptonshire securing a place in the Midlands South Finals in August for the first time in over 10 years.
The match was played in great spirits, and we were made to feel very welcome by Northamptonshire.
The overall score was 6/4 to Northamptonshire girls.
