25 of Warwickshire's best Junior boys entered the Boys Amateur Championship with 36 holes of stroke play ahead of them to see who would be crowned this year's champion.
Moor Hall was in fantastic condition as always and the weather was warm and dry with no rain forecast and light winds. It was very much set up for a great championship.
Spencer Tanner (Coventry) finished in 4th place in the overall Championship but would pick up a prize for 3rd net. Charlie England (Coventry) would finish runner up in the net competition with a one over total leaving Bobby Emmerson to secure the best net score with a fantastic score of 2 under for the day.
Onto the gross prizes and in the under 16s age group 3rd place would go to Jack Hewitson (Copt Heath) with the runners up spot going to Freddy Montgomery (Moor Hall) who would be the highest placed finisher from the host club players.
In the overall Boys Championship 3rd place would go to Lennon O'Neill-Knibbs (Coventry Hearsall) at +6 for the day, the runners up spot going to Alfie Mitchell (Nuneaton) at +5.
In a repeat of the championship in 2023, Josh Gardner (Coventry) would retain the under 16s and the main Boys Championship with a total score of 142, just 2 over par for the day.
Josh as our champion will now go on to represent Warwickshire in the England Golf Champion of Champions event at Woodhall spa on 14th September and also represent Warwickshire in the Midland Junior Champion of Champions on 22nd September at Stourbridge GC.
