80 ladies took part in the Summer Meeting at Robin Hood Golf Club this year. The format was betterball strokeplay on 85% course handicap.
The day started a little dull but no rain on the forecast…a definite plus this summer!!
Thanks must go to Lorraine Baldwin who stepped up to organise volunteers for the day. Jeanette Green ran the ball sweep and her partner, Rob Yewer, acted as Starter for the event. An amazing £205 was raised for the Junior girls.
Chris Jamieson and Joan Baker were kind enough to wait as markers for the day in case of absenteeism.
The course was looking very inviting, with super approaches to the greens. These proved tricky for some ladies but there were some excellent scores during the day.
The winners this year (on countback) of the Summer Meeting Trophies with an amazing net score of 66 are Isle Peel and Margaret Smith from Kenilworth.
Runners up, also with a net 66, are Sandra Kerby and Katherine Reynolds from Robin Hood.
Sandra got a hole in one on the 5th as well! Many congratulations for that.
The winners of the best net with a combined handicap over 40.8 are Jayne Shaw and Sue Lord from Sutton Coldfield with a net 68.
With a best gross score of 80, Claire Howells from Whittington heath and Liz Moverley from Copt Heath won the Harthill Goblets.
Well done to all the ladies who supported this WLCGA event and to Robin Hood GC staff for their help with organisation and on the day.
Thank you to Tim Knight and Jayne Hales for their refereeing and keeping the pack moving.
