Warwickshire Ladies League Final

On a beautiful September Monday morning at Handsworth Golf Club all was set for the 2024 League Final to take place.  The two contesting clubs were Moor Hall Golf Club & Walmley Golf Club, both based in Sutton Coldfield. There was definitely friendly rivalry but both clubs determined to bring home the winner’s trophy.

The toss was held and the Walmley ladies decided to tee off first.  All ten first tee drives were went off beautifully.

Our referee for the day Jayne Hales from Oakridge Golf Club reported that all games were played in great spirit and that she’d had a very easy day.

After all the matches were finished we gathered in the clubhouse for refreshments before I made the announcement that Walmley had indeed won the League Final.

Deb Reynolds, the Walmley League Captain, accepted the trophy, thanking her team & their opponents and pointing out that it had been 19 years since it had last been in their trophy cabinet.

Winners - Walmley Golf Club

Runners-up Moor Hall, while disappointed in not winning the trophy, gave congratulations to Walmley and pointed out that they had not reached the finals since 1995, so a great achievement for their club.
