JOYCE NICHOL TROPHIES 22 SEPTEMBER 2024 at LEAMINGTON & COUNTY GOLF CLUB

Following requests by club members to hold a County Competition at the weekend for working ladies, the Board decided to hold the Joyce Nichol Trophies on Sunday 22 September at Leamington & County GC.

The day didn't begin too well as it started raining heavily at around 6am with yellow weather warning and thunderstorms for the region.  So, it was touch and go whether this competition would go ahead but, it eventually did as the weather slowly improved.

33 ladies braved the weather and competed for Net and Gross Trophies in a 95% handicap Stableford competition.

Thank you to Leamington & County for hosting this event and presenting the course beautifully despite all the rain.

My thanks go to Diana Phillips and Vice-Captain Tracy Livingstone for their help during the day, Carol Warren for running the ball sweep, which raised £46 and the starter Roger Smith.  Thanks also to the catering and bar staff. My final thanks go to our Referee, Jayne Hayles for putting up with the awful weather and keeping the players moving.

SILVER DIVISION

WINNER :                    Debbie Naylor from Harborne GC with 41 points

RUNNER-UP:             Caroline Porter from Harborne GC with 37 points

            3rd:                            Gillian Curley from Stratford on Avon GC with 36 points

BRONZE DIVISON   

WINNER:         Julie Ingram from Leamington & County GC with 37 points

RUNNER-UP:             Carolyn Talbot from Leamington & County GC with 37 points

3rd:                          Dee Mallon from Shirley GC with 35 points
