2024 Midland U14 Boys County Championship - 1st of September
This year's Midlands (10 Counties) U14 championship was held at the beautiful Longcliffe Golf Club in Loughborough.
10 Counties, each competing with teams of 6 for the team championship and all 60 boys competing for the individual (gross) honours for the Midlands U14 Boy's champion!

Competition Summary
After bacon sandwiches and a warm-up on the fantastic practice facilities, Archie was the first Warwickshire boy off at 10:10, hitting the green on the opening par 3. The MGU ensuring a mix of County representatives for each tee group taking us through to 1pm due to the size of the field.
The course presented a tough but fair challenge with fast and tight greens.
The individual boys championship was won by Harry Slater of Shrophire & Herefordshire, with a fantastic 74. Archie placed highest for Warwickshire with a hard fought 80, which included two lost balls! Bryon was 25th, Harry 31st, Sam 41st, Theo 44th and Harper 55th.
All the boys dug deep after some eventful holes on the front 9, ensuring they posted the best score they could on the day.
In the team event Warwickshire finished 7th in a tight contest, with Cambridgeshire taking the title of U14 Boy's Midland County Champions 2024!
A great day both on and off the golf course. Thank you to Malcolm and the Midland Golf Union for putting on another fantastic event and Longcliffe GC for hosting and presenting their course in great condition.
We'll be back to fight for the title in 2025!
