

Day 1 Wednesday May 14th 2025
What a fabulous day for the County Championship at Edgbaston Golf Club. The sun was shining brightly and the course looked very inviting. This was Day 1 of a changed format for WLCGA’s County Championship. The new format is 18 holes stroke play with the top qualifying 8 ladies going through to a match play knockout. As well as the Championship title, the Silver Division Trophy and the newly introduced Intermediate Championship competitions were being competed for.
31 ladies played for the Silver Division Trophy with 21 of them opting for the match play option. 5 ladies were eligible for the Intermediate Championship.
Aoife Cannon from Olton won both the Silver Division Trophy with a net score of 66 and the Intermediate championship with a gross score of 80. Many congratulations to her for a great round and to Bobbi Waugh from Walmley, runner up in the Silver Division Medal and to Megan Carter from Edgbaston, runner up in the Intermediate Championship.
In the afternoon, the 8 qualifying ladies played the quarter finals.

Hannah Coles (Maxstoke Park) v Megan Carter (Edgbaston) – won by Hannah Coles 1 hole
Aoife Cannon (Olton) v Deb Reynolds (Walmley) – won by Deb Reynolds 3&2
Jenny Arnold (Coventry) v Maisie Halstead (Kenilworth) – won by Maisie Halstead 7&6
The semi finals and final will be played at Edgbaston Golf Club on Sunday 18th May 2025:
