Maisie and Jessica excel at the Midand Schools!
Maisie Halstead (Kenilworth GC) the newly crowned Warwickshire Ladies Champion and Jessica Davies (The Warwickshire G&CC) both played in the Midland Schools Championship at a very windy Collingtree Park Golf Club last week having qualified through the Warwickshire Schools last month.
Over 36 holes and in a field of single figure handicap girls from around the region, Maisie led throughout and won the best gross by 6 shots from her nearest rival! After round 1 she was infact the leading player from all 45 boys and girls.
She tied for 4th place nett overall (boys and girls) only losing best nett 36 holes to ....Jessica!
Jessica won the girls best nett with 2 excellent scores including a superb 2nd round 72 nett. She was also 5th best gross (girls) which was a brilliant ahievement amongst many low single figure handicap players.
The top 4 girls receive automatic entry to the English Schools National Championships to be held at Woodhall Spa on 23rd June and we are delighted that Maisie will represent herself, her school and us!
Jessica was so close to gaining automatic entry but hoping as 1st reserve that she will be able to join her there.
Yet again it goes without saying we are very proud of them both and wish Maisie best of luck at the Nationals.
